DESIGNATION METHOD FOR PARTIAL ASSEMBLY OF PARTS IN CAD SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a designation system that is suitable for the operation of a partial assembly from a CAD screen where a large number of complicated parts are treated by obtaining a common master parts in a tree structure of plural independent parts and then selecting the parts following the common master parts or only this master parts as the operating objects. ;SOLUTION: Plural parts are designated by an input part 110 via a parts shape display part 121 or a parts list/parts constitution list display part 122 or these two parts 121 and 122. A parts instruction processing part 131 recognizes the designation of a parts and sends this parts to a parts assembly processing part 132 in the form of an identification ID string that is proper to the parts. The part 132 obtains a common master parts by making reference to the data on a parts/parts constitution data part 141. The list of parts following the common master parts are shown with emphases on a display together with the shapes of parts of the list. Then the ID strings or all parts following the master parts are obtained by making reference to the data on the part 141.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
