PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimedia data retrieval system which is capable of discriminating the contents of data from the quality of data. ;SOLUTION: This system is provided with a contents object storage part 1 storing the contents object of multimedia data and a stream object storage part 2 storing the stream object of multimedia data. The contents attribute and the quality attribute of multimedia data stored in a multimedia data storage part 3 are separately stored, the part corresponding to the stream object designated by a stream object management part 5 and corresponding to the contents object designated by a contents object management part 4 is displayed on a multimedia display part 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
