PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reel exchange without interruting an automatic electronic components mounting equipment, by automatically moving only the supply equipment having an empty reel, where all chip electronic components are used, as far as the reel change position, and enabling reel change before components are supplied from the new component supply equipment. ;SOLUTION: When a reel 22 becomes empty and, at the same time, chip electronic components to be supplied to a component supply stand 24 are all used, a detection means 50 detects the state and outputs a signal. By the signal from the detection means 50, an electromagnetic valve 62 is changed over, and an operation rod 61 of a cylinder 60 ascends. A component supply means 20 is pressed by the energizing force of an energizing means 30, and is moved as far as the reel change position capable of reel change. Thus the component supply means 20 moves as far as the reel change position. The reel which has been empty is replaced with a new reel by a worker or an automatic change equipment. Thereby the reel change is enabled without interrupting an automatic electronic component mounting equipment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
