PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a nickel-phosphorus thin film having excellent electric resistance characteristics and corrosion resistance and to obtain an electroless nickel-phosphorus plating liquid having excellent stability to enable formation of the nickel-phosphorus thin film. ;SOLUTION: The film is formed by an electroless plating method. By controlling the carbon content of the film to 0.1 to 3.0at.%, the prepared. nickel- phosphorus thin film has excellent electric resistance characteristics and corrosion resistance. The nickelphosphorus thin film can be formed by an electroless plating method which uses a plating liquid containing at least a nickel salt, reducing agent and a complexing agent.
