PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a wear resistant and corrosion resistant alloy having strength enough to withstand loads of high frequency at a high rate under high pressure, to provide a method for producing the same and to obtain a cylinder for a forming machine using the wear resistant and corrosion resistant alloy. ;SOLUTION: An Ni base alloy contg., by weight, 0.01 to 0.5% C, 2.5 to 10.0% Si, 0.5 to 1.5% Mn, 5.0 to 10.0% Cr, 2.0 to 6.0% B, 5.0 to 35.0% Co and ≤25.0% Fe, and the balance Ni with inevitable impurities is heated at 700 to 1000°C for 10min to 24hr, is thereafter cooled to ≤550°C and is suitably subjected to stress relieving heat treatment at need. By this heat treatment, intermetallic compounds composed of Cr and B are precipitated to remarkably strengthen the Ni base wear resistant and corrosion resistant alloy. This precipitately strengthened Ni base wear resistant and corrosion resistant alloy shows its characteristics in a cylinder for a forming machine.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
