PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce alloy powder for forming rare earth enriched phases good in pulverizability and high in quality by specifying the compsn. of an alloy having specified components contg. rare earth elements and regulating the volume occupying rate of specified phases to specified %. ;SOLUTION: An alloy for forming rare earth enriched phases is composed of R (at least one kind among rare earth elements including Y), T (at least one kind among Fe, Co and Ni) and M (at least one kind among Al, Cu, Mn, Zn and Ca). Then, Dy/R is regulated to ≥90wt.%, the content of M is regulated to ≤10wt.%, and RT2 phases are contained by ≥90% in the volume occupying rate. Furthermore, RT3 phases may be contained by ≥90% in the volume occupying rate. This alloy is charged to a vessel together with a storing material and is subjected to hydrogen occluding and dehydrogenation for one or more times with both as one cycle, and after that, the treatment is stopped at the dehydrogenation finishing temp. or below. Thus, the rare earth magnet having stable magnetic properties can be obtd.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
