PURPOSE: To provide a copper foil water-barrier tape which acts both as a metallic shielding layer and a water-barrier layer and does not rupture even if a cable is bent and is harmless to the human body by arranging a thermoplastic adhesive layer on one surface of the copper foil having prescribed elongation at the normal temperature after heat treatment. ;CONSTITUTION: This copper foil water-barrier tape for a rubber, plastic insulated low voltage electric power cable is formed by arranging a thermoplastic adhesive layer 2 on one surface of the copper foil 1 having elongation not less than 20 % at the normal temperature after heat treatment or arranging a semiconductive thermoplastic adhesive layer 4 on the other surface according to circumstances. Preferably, it is formed by arranging a heat resistant reinforcing layer 3 between the copper foil 1 and the thermoplastic adhesive layer 2. This copper foil 1 having large elongation can be obtained by further performing heat treatment on the rolled copper foul and electrolytic copper foil manufactured by a special method.
