PURPOSE: To prevent leakage from a seat plane at tightening a gasket interposed between flanges of connecting piping, improve reliability, and facilitate setting of the gasket, concerning a gasket for flange for cooling sea water pipe used for a thermal power generation plant, a nuclear power generation plant, or the like. ;CONSTITUTION: A rubber gasket 1 interposed in a gap part between opposed flanges F, F provided on a connection part of sea water piping P is constituted so that a seat plane 2 is inside bolt holes provided on respective flanges, and setting holes 3 are provided on a plurality of positions in the vicinity of the outer circumference of the gasket in the circumferential direction. The thickness (t) of the gasket in a part position of the setting hole 3 is formed to be thinner than the thickness T of the seat plane. The thickness T of the seat plane is set so that the thickness formed when the gasket is tightened by bolts up to necessary tightening load becomes the same as the thickness (t) of the thin gasket on the part position of the setting hole 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
