PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an area required for winding even when a wire type material protecting apparatus is wound up and to reduce stress to the wire type material protecting apparatus and to the wire type material. ;SOLUTION: In a wire type material protecting apparatus 1 constructed by connecting multiple protection tools into a chain shape by means of pins and pin holes, a wire type material (a cable and the like) is stored in the inside. On one side in the pin hole, a hole diameter is increased, so that the pin can be oscillationally moved in the pin hole. Therefore, the wire type material protecting apparatus 1 can be wound spirally on the circumference face of a drum 12. Even when the wire type material protection apparatus 1 is long in length, a winding diameter is not changed though a winding height is increased, so that an area required for winding is small, while stress onto the wire type material can be reduced because of no fluctuation in the winding diameter.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
