PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an implantation piece easy to handle and inexpensive to produce, in the implantation piece, especially, an intervertebral artificial organ composed of a long elastomer, by forming the elastomer into a spiral shape in a relaxed state. ;SOLUTION: In a spiral implantation piece having a center piece 1 having a substantially cylindrical shape, a thin layer region 2 is provided so as to enable the center piece to largely deflect to make it possible to realize the closely bonded transition of the center piece 1 to the spiral winding 3 bonded to the thin layer region 2. The spiral binding 3 bonded to a transition region is closely bonded mutually and has definite lateral width of 2-5mm. A transfer region 4 is formed in succession to the spiral winding 3 and the lateral width of an elastomer is made narrow in the transfer region 4 in order to enable easy cutting in the vicinity of the spiral winding. Further, a strip like reinforcing material 7 is fixed to the free end of a spiral member 6 so as to be used as an extension part at a time of the handling of the spiral member 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
