PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to simultaneous access from many users without increasing a cost by exclusively providing a buffer storage part to each of combinations consisting of a data storage control part and a communication control part. ;SOLUTION: A buffer storage device 8 temporarily stores consecutive data transferred from a data storage controller 4. This buffer storage device 8 is connected to the data storage device 4 and a communication controller 6 one by one for each of all the combinations of the data storage device 4 and the communication controller 6. Consequently a buffer storage device 8 to be used for the transfer of data between an optional data storage controller 4 and an optional communication controller 6 is provided exclusively for all the combinations. Then a data path between the data storage device 4 and the buffer storage device 8 and a data path between the buffer storage device 8 and the communication controller 6 are respectively multiplexed to improve data transfer capacity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
