PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be able to continuously measure the stress and physical properties by inserting a probe into a testing hole, expanding it by hydraulic pressure, measuring the radial deformations at a plurality of positions, while rotating the probe, and analyzing the date. ;SOLUTION: A mounting probe is inserted into a testing hole 22 at a predetermined angular direction, and an artificial crack is generated at a hole wall by radially expanding a mounting tube 41 by hydraulic pressure. The relationship between the radial deformation perpendicular to the crack surface and the hydraulic pressure and the hydraulic pressure is measured by an LVDT sensor 61, and measured by repeating the mounting and dismounting. Thereafter, the measuring angle of the probe is rotated at 60 degrees, the similar measurements are repeated, further rotated at 120 degrees, and similarly measured. The data of the hydraulic pressure and radial deformations of three directions are analyzed to obtain the stress state and rockbed physical properties of the ground mountain of the peripheral of the hole 22. Further, the axial distributions of the stress and physical properties of the lengthwise range can be similarly measured by providing the many sensors 61 provided at the tube 41.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
