DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING LIBRARY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently extract request data from many storage media such as a CD-ROM, etc., at a low cost. SOLUTION: When data are requested from each application program to a reception server 1, whether or not the request data are recorded on a hard disk(HD) server 4 is judged. When the request data are not recorded on a hard disk, a library device control server 5 and a CD server 6 are instructed to extract the data from the CD-ROM stored a library device 7. The data extracted from the CD-ROM are copied on the hard disk and outputted by the output server 10 of a printer and a FAX, etc. The respective requests are processed by the form of separating the library device 7 and are controlled as if all the data exist in the hard disk.
