PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject food comprising specific ingredients, not deteriorated in the original textures of the ingredients, and enabling to simultaneously eat the ingredient expressing a highly fresh flavor and a highly fresh color when restored, and the other ingredient, on a dish desiring to enjoy a good texture. ;SOLUTION: This instant food comprises an ingredient 1 capable of being restored by contact with water or hot water and another ingredient 2. The ingredient 2 is disposed on a container side for pouring the water or the hot water thereon, and the other ingredient 1 is disposed thereunder. A method for cooking the food preferably comprises pouring the water or the hot water in the container in an amount sufficient for restoring the ingredient 1 disposed under the ingredient 2, restoring the ingredient 1, and subsequently vertically turning the container to cover the ingredient 2 with the restored ingredient 1. Concretely, the employment of a lyophilized GOMOKU soup (a soup mixed with various vegetables, fishes and meats) as the ingredient 1 and simultaneously the employment of the dry buckwheat noodles as the ingredient 2 can give a chow mein enabling to simultaneously enjoy the texture of the dry buckwheat noodles and the fresh flavor and color of the ingredient 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
