PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize widely a voice with a limited hardware scale by performing digital operation according to a stored musical sound generation program and generating a musical sound. SOLUTION: A sound source 108 is a programable sound source constituted essentially of a DSP, and is constituted of an operating RAM(PRORAM) 111, a microprogram RAM(MPRAM) 112, a parameter RAM(PARRAM) 113 and an operation processing part 114. Then, the operation processing part 114 performs the operation (that is, musical sound generation processing) by using a voice parameter stored in the parameter RAM 113 according to a micro program stored in the microprogram RAM 112. In this case, the musical sound algorithm of the sound source 108 is prescribed by the microprogram stored in the microprogram RAM 112. Thus, the digital operation is performed using the stored parameter, and the musical signal of a specified tone color is generated to be outputted.
