PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively execute bump-mapping and phongshading. ;SOLUTION: A periphery element value is calculated, a diffusion element value is executed bump-mapped 24 and the diffusion element value which is bump-mapped 24 in accordance with a bump-mapping/phongshading selecting signal or the diffusion element value before bump-mapping 24 is selectively outputted. Then, a mirror element value is bump-mapped 24 in accordance with the bump-mapping/phongshading selecting signal or the mirror element value before bump-mapping 24 is selectively outputted. The periphery element value, the selectively outputted diffusion element value and the selectively outputted mirror element value are added so that a brightness value is obtained.
