PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge the residual matter in a cylinder at one time by the open operation of a freely openable and closable valve by organically associating and operating this freely openable and closable valve and a spiral brush. ;SOLUTION: The bottom of a mixed rice transfer trough 2 is opened and the freely openable and closable valve 5 is mounted at an aperture 4. The sorting cylinder 1 is internally provided with the spiral brush 6 for feeding the mixed rice from a supply side to a discharge size. The spiral brush 6 is pressed to the part of the inner peripheral surface of the sorting cylinder 1 corresponding to the part where the mixed rice fluid layer 7 is formed by the open operation of the freely openable and closable valve 5. The respective apertures 4, 24 are opened when the respective freely openable and closable valves 5, 26 are opened. The mixed rice in the mixed rice transfer trough 2 and the unpolished rice in an unpolished rice take-out trough 3 are then infiltrated into the mixed rice fluid layer 7 formed on the inner peripheral surface of the sorting cylinder 1 to press to the inner peripheral surface 1 of the sorting cylinder 1. The mixed rice is rotated by friction with the sorting cylinder 1 under rotation and is sent to the discharge side, by which the mixed rice is efficiently taken out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
