PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing overrunning of a roll supporting section in a winding/unwinding machine, which is capable of preventing the occurrence of distortion in a film or a sheet by reducing a moving amount from a home position and reducing manufacturing costs by reducing the number of sensors as many as possible. ;SOLUTION: In a winding/unwinding machine constructed in such a manner that a roll supporting section 5 is loaded so as to be freely moved on a hanging base in the width direction of a film or a sheet based on position detecting information regarding the width direction end part of the film or the sheet, detecting sensors 11 and 12 are provided respectively in a place corresponding to the home position of the roll supporting section 5 on the hanging base and a place away by a length equivalent to the half of a moving range, and a position detecting dog 13 having a length equivalent to the moving range is fixed in the roll supporting base 5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
