PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely display the heart lumen by generating a powered pram mode image by scanning the heart of an examinee with an ultrasonic wave, sampling a high power area with power higher than a threshold value from the powered pram mode image and displaying the high power area as a heart lumen image. ;SOLUTION: An ultrasonic wave probe 1 is abutted with the examinee, and an ultrasonic pulse is transmitted from a beam former 2, and also, an ultrasonic echo signal in accordance with the sampling point of a point H in the depth direction of each sound ray is sampled. A power at each sampling point on one sound ray is calculated for an orthogonal component from which an unrequired component is eliminated and a common-mode component by a self-correlation arithmetic part 11, and it is delivered to a DSC 13. In such a case, the power is converted to a display value, and also, two-dimensional mapping is performed on it, and powered pram mode image data is generated.
