PURPOSE: To increase the breaking current by temporarily increasing the OFF gate current of a GTO. ;CONSTITUTION: A normal OFF gate current turns ON a switching element 6 to be supplied in the circuit of a power source 7, the cathode of a GTO 1, the gate of the GTO 1, the element 6 and the power source 7. At the time of breaking an over current, the OFF gate current larger than the normal OFF gate current is supplied in the circuit of the power source 7, the cathode of the GTO 1, the gate of the GTO 1, a switching element 8, a power source 9 and the power source 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
