OIL-ENCAPSULATED, INTER-LAYER VIBRATION DAMPING DEVICE OF WIND LOAD RESPONSIVE TYPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a seismic vibration damping effect by mounting a piston between members of an inter-layer tremor suppressing device of oil-encapsulated, wind load responsive type, locking the piston when a wind load is applied, and unlocking the piston when an earthquake occurs. ;SOLUTION: An inter-layer seismic vibration damping device has a cylinder cover 2 whose foremost part 9 is formed on one side of a cylinder 1, which is penetrated by a rod 4, and rod covers 3 are installed on the left and right of the rod 4. The tip of the rod 4 is fitted with a metal piece 8 while a rod side stopper 5 is interposed, and the opposite end of the rod 4 is provided with a rod head 7 while a cylinder cover side stopper 6 is pinched. A motor unit 10 and a reduction gear unit 11 are mounted on the rod covers 3, and the piston of the vibration damping device is locked by stoppers 5, 6 mounted on their drive shafts 12, 13, and unlocked in the event of earthquake by the motor and reduction gear units 10, 11.
