PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control fuel injection timing in a distributor type fuel injection pump for a diesel engine in such a way as to simultaneously satisfy the suppression of generation of smoke at the time of accelerating in a high rotation area and the suppression of generation of HC and CO at the time of accelerating in a low rotation area. ;SOLUTION: The pressure of a fuel chamber 2a on the discharge side of a feed pump 6 is led into one cylinder chamber to a timer piston 27 of a distributor type fuel injection pump, and the other cylinder chamber 29b is communicated with the suction side of the feed pump 6 through a main passage 32. The other cylinder chamber 29b is provided with a sub-port 33 formed in such a way as to be closed when the timer piston 27 is operated in a spark advance direction, and this sub-port 33 is communicated with the suction side of the feed pump 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
