CEMENT MORTAR CAPABLE OF PREVENTING SALT DAMAGE AND RUSTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain cement mortar for reinforced concrete excellent in effect of preventing salt damage, and rusting by adding a specified amt. of a hydrotalcite compd. to cement mortar. ;SOLUTION: A hydrotalcite compd. having 1-7 times as large anion exchange capacity as the amt. of chloride ions contained in cement mortar is added to the cement mortar and chloride ions in the mortar are incorporated into the crystal structure of the hydrotalcite compd. by substitution for carbonate ions existing in the chemical structure of the compd. In other way, a compsn. contg. a polybasic acid such as citric acid and an amine such as ethanolamine is added to cement mortar by 0.1-5wt.% to prevent carbonation and the rusting of an iron reinforcing bar due to the penetration of water, oxygen, CO₂, etc., as well as to adsorb and remove salt contained in the mortar.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
