PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an insol. lead compd. deposited and accumulated on a naked anode from falling off the anode and from attaching to an article being coated in electrodeposition coating with a cationic electrodeposition coating material contg. a rust-preventive lead pigment. ;SOLUTION: A cationic electrodeposition coating material contg. a rust- preventive lead pigment is compounded with 0.01-3.0wt.% L-ascorbic acid before being used for electrodeposition coating.
