PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide basic technique for a new gear type continuously variable transmission having a structure formed compact and simplified more than the conventional continuously variable transmission and enhancing output transmission efficiency. ;SOLUTION: In a gear type continuously variable transmission, a gear G0 connected to an input shaft is eccentrically rotated with a point O separated from the center O0 of the gear G0 by a distance (e) serving as the center, further the gear is meshed with a gear G1 of an output shaft, the gear G1 is rotated in a center position O1, also a slip pair is formed in a meshing direction with the gear G0, when the gear G0 is rotated by one turn, the gear G1 makes a locus moving a meshing point of both the gears in an internal/external direction of an external diameter by ±e again returned back to the original meshing point, and the output shaft is driven to rotate at a maximum rotational peripheral speed by the gear G1 provided with a one-way clutch.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
