APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR BRINGING DONOR SHEET AND RECEPTOR SHEET TO CONTACT STATE IN LASER THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring a donor sheet and a receptor sheet to a contact state without using vacuum in a laser thermal transfer printer. ;SOLUTION: A first clamp 64 is fixed to a drum 44 and the pins 72 of a second clamps are inserted in the slots 70 provided to both ends of the first clamp 64 to support the second clamp so as to make the same relatively movable with respect to the first clamp 64. A receptor sheet 46 is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the drum 44 and both end parts of a donor sheet are held by the first and second clamps 64 to superpose the donor sheet on the receptor sheet 46. An adjusting screw 76 is rotated to allow the second clamp to approach the first clamp 64 according to the pins 72 to pull the donor sheet and the donor sheet is brought into contact with the receptor sheet 46.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
