OPERATION OF BLAST FURNACE FOR PRODUCING LOW SI IRON

PURPOSE: To stably produce a low Si molten iron by adjusting basicity of raw materials in a furnace at a furnace core part and a furnace peripheral part to different values in a blast furnace operation and concentrically charging coke at the central part. ;CONSTITUTION: In the basicity (CaO/SiO2) of the raw material layer 2 on the coke layer 3 in the blade furnace 1, sintered ore, pellet and auxiliary raw material having much CaO content, etc., adjusted to the high basicity near the furnace peripheral part 2a and the sintered ore and the pellet having much SiO2, etc., adjusted to the low basicity at the furnace central part 2b, are charged. The distribution of basicity of the raw materials is made higher at the furnace peripheral part by ≥0.5 than that at the furnace central part and also, the coke is concentrically charged at the central part 8. The thickness of the coke layer 3 is layer at the central part and also, the boundary between near the furnace peripheral part and near the central part is made to 0.7±0.1 dimensionless radius and thereby, the molten iron having little Si content can stably be produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
