PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cycle slip detecting method in the relative GPS position measurement of a moving body and a device that can detect a cycle slip correctly by comparing the instantaneous speed of a moving body, computed using carrier wave tracking frequency, with the average speed of the moving body computed using the carrier wave phase integrated value. ;SOLUTION: The phase value of carrier wave of GPS signals is integrated for the fixed time (for one second), and the average speed of a moving body in the fixed time is obtained on the basis of the phase integrated value. The instantaneous speed of this moving body is then obtained on the basis of carrier wave tracking frequency indicating the slippage of transmit frequency based on the relative speed between a GPS satellite and a moving body. The average speed and the instantaneous speed are compared, and in the case of both speed almost coinciding with each other, it can be judged that no cycle slip is generated. In the case of the difference being large, on the other hand, it is judged that a cycle slip is generated to the phase integrated value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
