PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disaster prevention trough for the connection part of a power cable in which extinguishment by smothering is performed even when an accident occurs in the connection part and besides, maintenance is unnecessary. ;SOLUTION: This disaster prevention trough 4 receives the connection part 11 of a power cable to prevent a fire due to the accident which occurs in the connection part 11. At that time, an external trough body 6 for receiving the connection part 11 of a power cable and a trough lid 7 for hermetically sealing the external trough body 6, which is floated from the external trough body 6 by the pressure of a gas generated at the time of the accident of the connection part 11 of a power cable and returned immediately after the discharge of the gas are provided, and a pipe-like internal trough 14 covering the connection part 11 is provided in the connection part 11 to make duplex structure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
