METHOD OF FORMING JOINT END OF STANDARD-SIZE ROD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the formation of a joint end by butting a molding jig, which has a diameter a little larger than that of a standard size rod, to the end of this rod, and covering these with a thermoshrinkable tube, and heating them for shrinkage, and then, drawing out the forming jig lastly. ;SOLUTION: A forming jig 2 has a diameter a litter larger than the diameter of the standard size rod on opposite side to be connected, and it is made of plastic material, aluminum, or the like. The sectional form of this jig 2 is the same as the sectional form of the rod 1 on opposite side to be connected. A thermoshrinkable tube 3 is made of silicon rubber, etc., and at first, it is made in the inner diameter a litter larger than the diameter of the rod 1 and the jig 2. To form the joint end of the rod 1, the jig 2 is butted against the end of the rod 1, and a tube 3 is positioned around the end of the rod 1 and the jig 2, and this is heated for shrinkage, and lastly the jig 2 is pulled out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
