PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a reply enable state of a portable telephone set user to a caller even when the portable telephone set user does not actually make a reply by configuring the system such that when the portable telephone set user makes a tentative reply operation, a voice message such as 'Just moment please. I will make a reply after a while.' is sent to the caller. ;SOLUTION: When a tentative reply button 7 of a the portable telephone set 3 is depressed, a private branch of exchange 1 receives a tentative reply signal from the portable telephone set 3. Then a main control section 2 discriminates whether or not the portable telephone set 3 receives an incoming call and sends a usual reply signal to a caller 8 when the portable telephone set 3 is receiving an incoming call, and a switch control section 6 connects a channel 5b to a voice transmitter 9. Then the transmitter 9 sends a voice message such as 'Just moment please. I will make a reply after a while.' to the caller. Then the private branch of exchange 1 awaits a reply from the portable telephone set 3.
