PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the primary vibromotive force of the thrust, and to realize low vibration and noise level. ;SOLUTION: In an eccentricity setting method of a Cardan joint, a first shaft S1 provided with a first yoke Y1 arranged opposite to a shaft end, a second shaft S2 provided with a second yoke Y2 arranged opposite to the shaft end, and a spider SP which is turnably connected to the first yoke and the second yoke. The eccentricity of the spider Sp is set so that the eccentricity Δ2 of the spider SP in the opposite direction of the second yoke Δ2 is larger than or equal to the eccentricity Δ1 of the spider SP in the opposite direction to the first yoke Yl when (k1-I1ω2) is larger than or equal to (k2-I2ω2)γ2 where k1 is the pitching rigidity, I1 is the pitching inertia, l1 is the shaft length of the first shaft S1, k2 is the pitching rigidity, I2 is the pitching inertia, l2 is the shaft length of the second shaft S2, ω is the rotational angular velocity of the first and second shafts, and γ=l1/l2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
