摘要
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and inexpensively generate negative pion and negative muon by discharging in hydrogen or deuterium in a magnetic filed. SOLUTION: Hydrogen gas or deuterium gas 1 is allowed to flow in a vacuum vessel, and direct current thermal cathode discharge is performed along a weak magnetic field of about 50 gauss. If it is separated from a plasma flow 8 shining in its center in some extent vertically to the magnetic field, the shining cannot be observed, negative ions 15 of hydrogen or deuterium are generated at the same degree of positive ion density, and electron density is decreased. When a drawing electrode 10 of negative charge particles is provided in the neighborhood thereof, electrons are bent by the weak magnetic field, absorbed on the electrode 10, and the negative charge particles become a beam, to be ejected. Electric neutrality is largely broken on the outside of the plasma flow 8, a large electric field is generated due to positive ions, electron s are confined in a sufficiently small cyclotron radius in the weak magnetic field, and act as aggregate. Accordingly, a positive ion group and an electron group are greatly acted on each other, and negative pion - and negative muon - can be produced by a simple device.
