METHOD FOR COLLATING PIPE IN PNEUMATIC FEEDING AND LEADING-IN WORK OF OPTICAL FIBER UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to simply, easily and surely identify pipes without disassembling the joints of the pipes in mid-way of piping by passing high-pressure air in the pipes and measuring the expansion of the pipes by strain gages. ;SOLUTION: Expansion detecting bands S are mounted at the pipes 20c at branch points and the initial values of the strain gauges in this state are measured. Feed heads are thereafter successively connected to the pipes at the front end of a large- diameter pipeline 10 and the high-pressure air flow is passed therein. An operator reads the measured values of the strain gages of the expansion detecting bands S. When a significant change is admitted in the measured values of the expansion detecting bands S, this pipe is decided as the pipe 20c. The expansion of the pipes does not affect the outside diameters of the other pipes at all and since the influence of the enviromnent noises, such as noises, is not received at all, the change in the measured value of the expansion detecting bands is surely indicative of the expansion by the high-pressure air of the pipes and, therefore, the pipe connected with the feed head is discriminated as to be the same pipe as the pipe 20c in mid-way of the pipeline.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
