DIGITAL CIRCUIT DESIGN SUPPORT SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR DESIGN OF HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE OF DIGITAL CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a large-scale program like an operating system in parallel with development of hardware. ;SOLUTION: A function model 3 of a digital circuit as the development object is generated to verify the logic of hardware. Next, a structure model 4 is generated based on the function model 3, and an emulation means 6 is generated from the structure model 4, and it is connected to a hardware description language simulation means 5 through an interface means 7 so that they can exchange information. A hardware designer and a software designer use the function model 3, the structure model 4, and their mixture model through engineering work stations 9a to 9c to verify the logics of hardware and software of the digital circuit as the development object by the emulation means 6 and the simulation means 5, thus simultaneously designing hardware and software of the digital circuit in parallel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
