PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hinder the printing of attendance data when a user inserts a time card in the reverse state in error by judging the front/rear face of a monthly salary face inclusion type time card forming monthly printing columns on both the front and rear faces at the time of inserting the card. ;SOLUTION: A mark TX for distinguishing front and rear faces is formed on a monthly salary face inclusion type time card TC forming monthly printing columns on both the front and rear faces. A time recorder 1 is provided with sensors 15L, 15R for detecting the existence of the mark TX and judging the front/rear side of the inserted time card TC, a front/rear validity judging means for judging the validity of the direction of the time card TC and a sound generation device 12 for generating an alarm when an error is judged.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
