PURPOSE: To manufacture an elastic foamed product improved in dimensional stability, by mixing a medium-density, branched-chain high pressure PE with a volatile organic foaming agent, and extruding the resulting mixture under a prescribed foaming condition. ;CONSTITUTION: The medium-density, branched-chain, high pressure PE having a density larger than 0.928 g/cm³ (PE with a density larger than 0.930 g/cm³ and less than 0.935 g/cm³ is preferred) is mixed with a volatile organic foaming agent (e.g.; 1,2-dichlorotetrafluoroethane, 1-chloro-1,1-difluoroethane or the like), and the resulting mixture is extruded under a foaming condition effective for manufacturing a dimensionally stable elastic foamed body. A dimensionally stable elastic foamed product containing an open cell structure less tan 20% measured by ASTM-2856 is provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
