PURPOSE: To provide a steel having a property of practically causing no fatigue crack propagation at the time of use under a wet hydrogen sulfide environment. ;CONSTITUTION: The steel has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.01-0.2% C, 0.2-0.6& Si, 0.3-2.0& Mn, 0.2-1.0% Cu, 0.01-0.1% sol.Al, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and satisfying 0.5%≤Si+Cu≤1.5%. Other than the above alloy components, 0.1-2.0% Cr is further incorporated. By this method, the steel having a steel material of YS(20 to 45kgf)/mm2 or TS(35 to 60kgf)/mm2 class and suitable for material for equipment, such as tanker and linepipe, etc., to be subjected to repeated stress under a wet hydrogen sulfide environment can be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
