REPRODUCTION SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE AND ITS PHASE SYNCHRONIZATION CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: To increase the capacity of a magnetic disk device by obtaining a sampling timing for minimizing the equalization error of a reproduction signal and improving a bit error rate at a high-density recording. ;CONSTITUTION: In a magnetic disk device, a magnetic disk medium 12 is rotated by a spindle motor 11 and data recorded by the magnetic disk medium 12 are reproduced by a magnetic head 13. A signal read by the magnetic head 13 is amplified by a head amplifier 14 and is inputted to a reproduction signal processing device 10. Digital data processed by the reproduction signal processing device are outputted to a disk controller and are outputted to, for example, a host computer. The reproduction signal processing device 10 consists of an AGC amplifier 15, an LPF 16, an equalizer 17, an ADC 18, a maximum likelihood decoder 19, a decoder 20, a PLL 21, a phase corrector 22, and an equalization error detector 23.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
