PURPOSE:To easily and surely execute the automatic replenishment of anode pieces by detecting the decrease of the many anode pieces housed in an anode case by means of a sensor and charging the anode pieces from an anode piece charging device into the case. CONSTITUTION:Electricity is supplied via anode bars 6 between the many anode pieces 16 housed in the anode case 3 having a net shape in the lower half part in a plating cell 1 and the work 4 charged via a carrier bar 20 by a transport carrier 19. The decrease of the anode pieces 16 of the above-mentioned plating device is decreased by the anode decrease sensor 28 via the operation of an anode decrease sensing bar 8 having an indicating part 9 and a weight 15. An anode piece replenishing mechanism 32 is operated by a control section 33 in accordance with the detection signal. Upper and lower stoppers 29, 30 are advanced and retreated by this operation to replenish the anode pieces 16 from the inside of a vertically movable anode piece charging guide 25 on the carrier 19 through an inlet hole 7 and an outlet hole 11 of a discharged hood 5 into the above-mentioned anode case 3 from a passage 13 on a sloped guide surface 12.
