PURPOSE: To continuously knit leaf tobacco in a state to be able to easily divide plural reams of the leaf tobacco in each one ream by carrying out plural empty knitting after finishing the knitting of a ream of the leaf tobacco, then feeding the leaf tobacco and carrying out the ream knitting. ;CONSTITUTION: In this ream knitting device, a shaft body is moved downward with opening grasping claws 51, 51, continuous pestles are lifted and the grasping claws 51, 51 become closed attitude in a vertical state, then, a rotation shaft 74 is rotated and a turning arm 61 an an operating arm 52 are turned 90° while keeping the closed attitude of the grasping claws by the action of linking materials 76, 77, the shaft body is lifted at this position, the grasping claw 51, 51 are returned to the open state and the turning arm 61 is turned toward the original position in the opposite direction by the continuous rotation of the rotation shaft 74.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
