PURPOSE: To provide a small culturing device enabling the assay of bacteria in good efficiency and in saved labor and capable of being used for the assay of the bacteria in stead of a conventional Schale. ;CONSTITUTION: A method for quantitatively examining bacteria comprises putting a specimen in a sterilized sampling container, further injecting a prescribed amount of a sterilized culture medium, receiving the specimen thus diluted in a prescribed ratio in a small culture device provided with plural specimen-filling compartments having prescribed volumes, respectively, putting the small culture device in an incubator and culturing, and subsequently judging the number of the bacteria in the specimen received in each compartment in the small culture device. The small culture device 1 is a hollow cylindrical molded product comprising a main body part 2 provided with the plural specimen-filling compartments 3 having prescribed volumes, respectively, a pipette-mounting part 2 continuously disposed from the base part of the main body for mounting the pipette, and a specimen-sucking part 6 continuously disposed on the tip side of the main body for inoculating and filling the specimens in the respective specimen-filling compartments of the main body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
