Elbow jig and flexible pipe equipped elbow jig null for friction welding machine

PURPOSE: To make it possible to securely hold an elbow in a prescribed state by a stationary holding device of a friction press welding machine at the time of executing friction press welding by using the friction press welding machine. ;CONSTITUTION: This elbow jig 10 has a hollow through-part 25 which is formed to the same contour as the outside shape of the elbow E and is so formed as to project the elbow E by at least the length corresponding to an allowance for deviation at the friction press welding machine side end 28 and to make the other end face 30 flush with the end face of the elbow. A mouthpiece 14 having high hardness is mounted at the end 28 of the hollow part and a stopper ring formed to be pressed to the end face of the elbow is mounted on the other end face, respectively. Plural high-hardness liner layers 24 are formed circumferentially continuously or intermittently annularly at spaced intervals on the wall surface of the hollow part. Further, the surface of the liner layer is inscribed with fine grooves annularly in the circumferential direction on the surface of the liner layers. The jig is so formed that the other end face 30 exists horizontally when the jig is mounted on the stationary side holding device. In addition the jig consists of a set of a pair of two pieces of half-split molds 12A, B which are divided symmetrically with the plane inclusive of the center line in the longitudinal direction of the hollow part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
