PURPOSE: To provide a device including a fixture free to install on a rotor to machine the gas turbine engine rotor without removing it from a frame in an engine by guiding a machining tool to be driven by a manual air motor. CONSTITUTION: A fixture 30 includes a root part 32 having the same outline as a root slot 16 of a rotor 10, a base 34 having a base 36 installed on this root part and a machining guide in the shape of a bush 50 constrained in the inside of a guide slot 38 so as to receive and guide a cutting tool to be driven by a manual air motor 60 to machine the rotor. Additionally, the rotor is machined at a working site so as to cut and form a moving blade damper pocket 20 on a dovetail slot of a compressor rotor by driving a machining tool by using the manual air motor.
