PURPOSE:To generate a desired process control input signal without performing any complicate mathematical expression operation by feeding back the output of the arithmetic circuit when the output signal of a norm model is supplied as the control command of the arithmetic circuit as the input of the arithmetic circuit. CONSTITUTION:The arithmetic circuit 22 for performing model norm type adaptive advanced control is constituted by software on a computer or separately installed hardware and a disturbance input 1 to a process 21 is inputted to of this arithmetic circuit 22. Then a control input signal 2 which makes the response of the controlled value of the process 21 coincident with the response of the output state value of a norm model 23 and applied to the control input application point of the process 21 to perform the advanced control. Consequently, the response of the controlled value of the process 21 can be coincident with the response of the norm model 23, and even when parameters of the process 21 are unknown, the control input 2 can be generated by the arithmetic circuit which uses parameters estimated momentarily by a parameter estimating mechanism 24.
