PURPOSE:To improve the transfer properties of ink by providing a medium for pressure contact, each between a platen which melts an ink and sheet, and the sheet and a guide roller 5 which separates an ink ribbon, in a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 2 consists of, for example, guide roller 13, 14 as media for pressure contact, each between a platen 3 which melts ink and sheet 6a, and the sheet and a guide roller 5 which separates an ink ribbon 8a. Thus it is possible to ensure that cracks generate between a boundary between the molten part and the non-molten part of ink in a state where the molten ink of an ink ribbon 8a adheres to the sheet 6a only by adding the guide rollers 13, 14 or a guide bar and a press roller. Thus the transfer properties of ink can be improved.
