PURPOSE:To automatically remove particles even if adhering onto a trough thereby to measure correctly and speedily by forming a brush of a thin wire bent into tight contact with an upper surface of the trough. CONSTITUTION:A linear bearing 4 is arranged above a trough 1. A shaft 5 penetrates the bearing 4 in a manner to allow reciprocation of the bearing 4. A brush mounting member 6 is mounted to the shaft 5. The shaft 5 and brush mounting member 6 reciprotate along the advancing direction of the trough 1 by the action of a clank mechanism 9. A brush 10 is formed of a thin wire bent into tight contact with a trough 11. As the brush 10 slides in contact with the trough 11, the brush rubs particles on a trough 10 not to make them adhere to the trough 10. At the same time, if the particles adhere onto the trough, the particles are removed. Accordingly, it becomes possible to mea sure quickly and correctly at all times.
