PURPOSE: To improve performance in the case of remotely performing access from a client to data held by a server at the time of server/client type computer processing. ;CONSTITUTION: A reference means 22 investigates a recording means 24 and when the consistency keeping system is a server guiding system, data are extracted from a storage means 21. Then, the reference frequency of a recording means 26 is updated, and a switching means 15 is started. An updating means 13 updates the requested data to a storage means 11 and next, a recording means 16 is investigated. In the case of the server guiding system at present, the copy of data stored in the storage means 21 is reflected with the data in the storage means 11, the update information of the recording means 14 is updated, and the switching means 15 is started. When the frequency of updating at the recording means 14 is higher than the frequency of reference at the recording means 26, the switching means 15 records the consistency keeping system of the client guiding system in the recording means 16 and 24 but in the opposite case, the server guiding system is recorded.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
