PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor which is based on a specific rare earth metal oxisulfide, have been doped with a specified amt. of a specific dopant, has a reduced afterglow, retains the luminous intensity, and is useful for an X-ray computer tomograph. ;SOLUTION: This phosphor is based on (A) a rare earth metal oxisulfide of the formula: (M1-xLnx)2O2S (wherein M is Y, La or Gd; Ln is Eu, Pr, Tb, Yb, Dy, Sm or Ho; and 210-1x110-6) and has been doped with (B) 10-1-10-6 mol.%, pref. 10-4-10-6 mol.%, Zr, Hf, Se, Te or Ti.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
