PURPOSE:To produce alkali cellulase with high strength even through a neutral fermentation process by using DNA fragments having specified base pairs and restriction enzyme map and by transformation of the bacteria classified as neutral Bacillus with a vector containing said fragments. CONSTITUTION:The objective DNA fragment coding alkali cellulase, made up of ca. 10kb base pairs, having a restriction enzyme map given in the figure. Microorganisms are transformed using a recombinant vector containing said DNA fragments. Said microorganisms as a donor of alkali cellulase gene is e.g., Bacillus Sp-KSM-522, a kind of bacteria classified as neutral Bacillus.
